The German wine business is getting ready for a set of trade events all set for March and April 2026. These are the shows in Germany that should have your attention this year: The international stalwarts of the wine scene, ProWein in Düsseldorf and the VDP.Weinbörse in Mainz; then there are sound regional events such as VinVin and Sektbörse, also staged in Mainz; and there are two notable fairly new shows, Eurovino in Karlsruhe and the Biodynamic Wine Fair in Mainz, to return. Finally, new in 2026 Karakterre will have it’s maiden event in Germany
March 2026 – EUROVINO at Messe Karlsruhe
Eurovino, the newcomer to the wine fair circuit in Germany, is going into into its 3rd edition. The next two-days show is to place in Karlsruhe from March 1 to March 3, 2026. It continues to focus on an audience primarily in Southwest Germany, near major wine regions such as Baden, Pfalz, Rheinhessen, and Württemberg. This year a Masterclass area and an Expert area have been added for visitors to get third parties insights and assessments of wines. There will be also a self-service tasting area and the opportunity to taste mature wines.

March 2026 – ProWein at Messe Düsseldorf
ProWein, the world’s largest trade show in the wine business, is set to open its doors on March 15th in Düsseldorf. Despite a shrinking participation, the event remains a cornerstone of the international wine trade calendar with 5,000 exhibitors and an expected attendance of 50,000 visitors. The event is strictly enforcing attendance criteria, with the aim to ensure a focused environment for networking and business dealings. This years specials will include a zone for sparkling wines called ‘Sparkling Visions’, a section for organic wines ‘Organic Visions’, and an ever growing section covering the business of low and no alcohol wines ‘ProWein Zero’.

April 2026 – NEW: Karakterre 17 Germany in Eltville
Here’s a new kid on the block of professional wine shows in Germany: On April 23rd Karakterre is staging its 17th edition at Monastery Eberbach in Eltville (by car that’s about 30 minutes from Mainz or Wiesbaden, 50 minutes from Frankfurt). Having chosen the 800 years old cistercian Monastery for a setting the event organisers picked a stunning location for their exhibitors from mostly central and eastern Europe. Expect selected wineries with a focus on organic/biondyamic wine growing – list of exhibitors here.
April 2026 – Sektbörse in Mainz
Sektbörse is the meeting point for wine professionals with a particular interest in high-end sparkling wine from Germany. Expect meeting up to 40 sparkling wine houses from all over Germany dedicated to making outstanding sparkling wines, Sekt méthode-traditionelle. Co-timed with the Weinbörse, Sektbörse will take place on April 25th at the Kurfürstliches Schloss in Mainz. More information on the 2026 Sektbörse is available here.
April 2026 – Vin-Vin Mainz
The second edition of this fairly new wine show comes as a joint initiative of the regional winemakers associations of Nahe and Rheinhessen. The show is taking place right next Mainz train station on April 25th. According to the organisers, VINVIN brings together winegrowers and specialist retailers who focus on quality and authenticity to present wines that speak to their origin – “from the best vineyards, characterised by tradition and innovation. Look forward to inspiring tastings, exciting discussions and new partnerships that will enrich your product range.”
April 2026 – VDP.Weinbörse at Rheingoldhalle in Mainz
Celebrating its 52nd edition, the VDP Weinbörse returns to Mainz from April 26th, showcasing high-end German wines from over 200 members of the VDP (Germany’s leading association of winemakers) to a strictly selected international trade audience.
April 2026 – Biodynamic Wine Fair at Postlager in Mainz
Coinciding with the Weinbörse dates, the Biodynamic Wine Fair will be staged in Mainz on April 25th as well. Featuring 60 biodynamic wineries from across Europe, the event will spotlight biodynamic wines, sparkling varieties, and ‘other natural products’ according to the organizer Demeter. Renowned figures will lead masterclasses and lectures, underscoring the growing interest in sustainable winemaking practices.
